Lifted and entertained

Got a new one for you guys today. I know it’s been a while, But the concept for this product has been floating around in my head for a while. I hope you enjoy it.

TRACT. A TV mounted track system that allows a flatscreen TV to go from wall viewing to ceiling viewing. Powers, moves & entertains.

Getting there is half the battle

As always guys I’m here to update you on all things Quirky related when it comes to my inventions. Today as I was reading the Quirky blog, like I do everyday, I happened to notice they used my invention “Loft,” as a backstage example of what it takes to produce renderings for Quirkys future “Upcoming Products.” If your not familiar with Quirky and the type of work that goes into getting ideas to this stage, It’s definitely a good read. I was happy to see they used my invention as an example. Thanks very much guys!

free press is good press

last but not least, if you care for a little more information about my plate idea and care to chime in in the comment section ,I have posted the link the blog post here. Just click on the picture to be taken to the original post. Thanks guys!

The dishrack is now dead!

OMG! Today is an exciting day.  If you’re looking at the pictures below, today marks the day My hangable plate idea manifests itself in realform. Now on the “upcoming section” of quirky you can check out “Loft” in all its hanging glory. It’s gone a long way, but the ride is not yet over. So chime in if you want to earn yourself a piece of the influence by playing the pricing game. I’m gonna have a permanent smile on my face all day!

here’s the description as it reads on quirky (click on the pictures to be taken to the upcoming section)

Loft

Elevate Your Dishes

Wine glasses have had the luxury of suspended storage for ages, but their counterparts at meal time haven’t been so lucky. In a world where laying flat and horizontally stacking your dinnerware are often the only options, Quirky is bringing Loft to the table. It’s a rack with a set of bowls, plates, and cups that frees up cabinet space and drys your wares by letting you suspend them. Loft also features a shelf, towel bar, and utensil holder with perforated bottom for drying more than just your food vessels. If you prefer not to do things by hand, Loft’s dinnerware and utensil holder are safe for the dishwasher.

An idea in motion

Ladies and gentleman my sandpaper stick idea with quirky has moved along to the refine phase. Hop right in and grab yourself a piece of influence. Only time will tell what they turn out looking like.

UC sounds good to me

Alright ladies and gentleman. Today is a good day, because today Quirky put my medicine cabinet idea under consideration. To all those not familiar with Quirky. Uc is the first step in any idea becoming a real product. Lets hope quirky sees the potential in this concept and moves it past live eval and into development. Only time will tell. Click on the pic to be taken to the original submission.

A new way to store and adore!

Pegboard style medicine cabinet with pegged adjustable hinged shelves. Adjust according to your organizational needs. Customizable!

If you hate clutter than this idea is for you!

Loved and Involved

So I can say I’m very blessed with my involvement with Quirky so far. To get to the point myself and long time member Sonia CG are featured on their blog in an article about new hire onboarding. Basically we were asked to talk about our experiences with the company so far and help the new hires learn how vital a role the community plays in the company. Guess we have played our cards right and our loved by the Quirky staff. Just want to let you guys know we love you back! Here’s a link to the article if you want to give it a read for yourself. Thanks for the support guys.

Modular Electric tracking. The fun & Custom ability of Curvables meets Entertainment, decoration & function. A new way to use & power things

let’s keep things clean here!

I’m gonna leave this post short and sweet. I have a new idea here and it comes down to the way we sweep. Yep, that rhymed. Hope the  render and tittle explains it all. Vote for the idea if you like it.

Broom with built in dustpan. Makes the casing useful and leaves the dustpan always within arms reach. Just snap off when needed!

Things are best on a roll

yeah, yeah. So it’s has been an exciting two weeks when it comes to my inventions. Last week my shoe lace cutter idea went into live brainstorm and my sandpaper sticks idea also went into the community design phase. This week I’m glad to announce that shoe lace cutter tool has also went into the community design phase. Things are starting to roll right along and hopefully sometime soon I will eventually see all these ideas on the Quirky upcoming product page. If you want to earn some cash and participate in the development phase, so ahead and click on the link here and get your influence on!

Things are getting a little gritty

Hey there guys. So my Q-tip sized sandpaper sticks idea has moved into the community design phase. If you guys care to participate in the process you can be taken to the  submission page here. If you’re a quirky member this is your opportunity to earn some influence and make that cash. So if you got an interesting idea for my invention, give it a shot.

For all the shoe heads out there

Keeping your kicks looking proper could be a serious challenge to all those dedicated to their shoes. To long and the laces just look whack, to short? well, your just fucked. Theirs definitely a proper length of lace required to making your kicks look clean and about a month ago I submitted an idea to Quirky that worked towards solving this very problem. If your not familiar; it’s my shoe lace cutter and tip crimper idea. Basically a device that allows you to cut laces to your own desired length and seal on a new anglet, this tool allows people to customize their shoe laces in a way they never had the opportunity before. Yesterday was an exciting day for me because yesterday this very idea went it to Quirky live brainstorm. I’m excited to see how the design direction on this invention will turn out and who knows how it may impact the shoe market. I only hope for the best. Just in case you guys missed it though you can watch the recording here. P.s it starts at about 21 minutes. Enjoy!

there’s a place for everything and everything in it’s place

I like to think a little out there when it comes to my idea submissions sometimes. This idea here deals with storage and needing a place to put all our little nick-nacks. Inspired by homes window treatments,I have concepted a new twist on traditional shelving. Hope you like it!

Shutter shelves. Collapsible space saving shelves that disappear when you don’t need them. Up, up and out of the way!

It’s time to kick it!

yeaaaah, yaaaaaaah. My shoe lace cutter idea is about to move up in the development process and tomorrow quirky will be talking about it during the live brainstorm. I haven’t seen this one budge in a minute so I’m glad it’s starting to move along. If you’re new to Quirky brainstorms, you can chime in by clicking on the Quirky live link and throw in your own two cents. I’m pumped, let’s see where this idea goes.

you gotta hang, if you wanna kick it!

There sure is something to shoes that just makes them grab me by the balls. So pretty and untouched, they just sit there like a gleaming brand new car. Seriously, I flock to them like a moth heading to a light. Some may say I have to many, But the people I care about might not say I don’t have enough? Either way, It sure seems like there is never a great way to store them. The way I see it, no one storage solution can work for everyone, and no one storage solution can truly be tailored to match our specific spatial needs. Inspired by my recent move and my need to keep my kicks in check, I think I found the solution.

Wall hangable shoe hooks. Because not all home closets are created equal. A different place, a different space. one easy solution.

Let there be light

So this idea came to me in a recent “Aha” moment after just recently moving. Stuck with just one small floor lamp in my room to provide light (that is until I go to Target and buy something to suit my needs) I came up with the idea of  a truly telescopic lamp. After looking at my small lamp on the floor I got bitch slapped by my brain with this idea.

Telescopic lamp. One lamp that goes from table lamp to tall floor lamp. One product, multiple heigth variations.

Things are getting a little sketchy

So I never post sketches of anything I do, But in this case I figured why not. What you see here is usually what I quickly sketch up before I go to do a rendering; used more for ideation purposes. So this is me letting loose. If you have happened to notice none of my quirky submissions have never been sketches. This is sketch numero uno!

ClickStand. A cooking pot with a sliding sleeve stand that lifts the pot off the table for easy serving. No trivet needed. stove to table.

You win some and you lose some

Like the tittle says I’ve won a few (3 to date!), and I’ve lost a few (3 t0 date as well). And all out of fifty ideas I must add; a good batting average at that in my opinion!). Today my ergonomic sponge Idea was not chosen by quirky, but no biggie, it made it to UC and stayed in limbo there for a couple weeks; while many other peoples ideas came and left. So in my opinion that meant there was something to it that made for some good quirky staff debating. I’ve got plenty more ideas to come so don’t you worry. Here’s what Quirky had to say.

The Ulysses S. Grant of ideas

Quirky idea numero 50. Today marks the 50th idea I’ve even submitted to Quirky, and being a member only since February of this year I could say that so far it has been a fun ride. I’ve learned a lot about the kind of ideas I think of and I have fond a love of mine; designing kitchenware. This idea may not be meant for the kitchen but I sure do love concepting home consumer goods. Guess all those years of staring at product at Target when I was a child is starting to pay off. Hope you enjoy this one guys.

Compact collapsible dustpan that attaches to any broom. Have it where you are when you need it (easy clean up & retrieval). folding fan style.

let’s link up

here they guys so like I stated yesterday my shoe lace cutter and crimper idea has been chosen by quirky. It’s now on the development area and I just wanted to post the link to to it just in case you care to take part in its process. Hope this one makes it all the way. Thanks guys!

the proof is in the pudding

So incase you already didn’t know my shoe lace cutter and crimper idea was picked by quirky! To start off the week right I’m featured as one of the inventors of the week;  today is actually a Monday I could like. You could read the short little synopsis here. Thanks guys.

50/50 is good enough for me!

So good news and bad news. One of of my two ideas chosen for yesterdays live eval was not picked. But no biggie. I had 2 out of the 12 ideas that made it into yesterdays eval and now one of them is a winner. I see that as a success. The quirky community liked my shoe lace cutter and crimper idea and will be exploring its market and design possibilities. Hell yee!

Double whammy!

Alright! I’m excited. I just got a call from one of the invention ambassadors at quirky saying that “2″ of my ideas will be discussed during the live eval meeting tonight. I hope I’m the first to do that. Anywho they will be discussing my my shoe lace cutter and crimper idea and my orange juice caraffe idea with a variable filter for desired pulp consistency. Eval meeting starts at 4 california time and chime in if you want to see what they say and you have any comments about my ideas. Click on the pic to be taken to the live eval. I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed!

Hell Yeee!

Alright! Just got another email from quirky saying they put another one of my ideas under consideration. Got three in “UC” now and two in the development stages. Let’s hope things work my way. Some future residual income would be nice. My student loans are trying to kill me! This idea they put under UC is for my shoelace cutter and crimper idea. Click on the pic to be taken to the original submission.

Yeaaah Boi!

When you fall down you gotta make sure you get back right on your feet. Yesterday I got news from Quirky that one of my ideas got cut from “UC,” But great news seconds ago I got another email from quirky saying they put my Ergonomic sponge idea under consideration. Out with the old (rejected) and in with the new as they say (idea with potential). I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed on this one and let’s hope this one moves up the Quirky design stages. Click on the pic to see the original submission.

On to the next one

hey guys so my flattop knife attachment idea that quirky had under consideration got cut. No worries though, they all can’t be winners. I’ve been learning so much from posting my ideas on Quirky and I’m thankful I posted another idea that got their attention. If you want to read their comments regarding my submission you can click on the link here. On the better side of things it’s looks like my juice carafe idea is still being tossed around by them and is still in the “UC” section on their site. Let’s hope that one moves forward. I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed!

Swag By mail

Quirky Pro swag has now arrived by mail! For the low price of $99 I have unlimited opportunities to submit as many inventions as I want. I see that as a deal considering that there is no penalty for striking out. I now have a new shirt, pen and sketchbook to add to my collection. Thanks Quirky!

Finders keepers

Hey there guys! Just wanted to share something I found while looking on quirkys pinterest page. I’m not sure if you have seen the first submission that quirky picked of mine; the hangable plateware idea? But if not you can see the original blog post here. What I wanted to share with you guys though is that they also have a pinterest page with all their inspirations for my concept. Pretty cool. You should check it out. Click the link to be taken to the page.

A shoe heads delight!

So to get to the point I’m pretty particular about the length of my shoelaces when it comes to tying my shoes. Too long and the tied loops are overly huge; to short and there isn’t just enough loop. This idea goes out to all the shoe heads in the world and those who are meticulous about their style.

Shoe lace cutter & crimper. A tool for meticulous shoe heads or a fun & playful way for kids to cut & combine their shoelaces. Two markets!

Another one doesn’t bite the dust

Great news again guys. Quirky put another one of my ideas under consideration. So far I have two in development and two under the UC phase. Let’s hope those other two move into under development. As always I was happy to get an email from quirky about my idea. Click on the pic to go to the original submission. Gonna keep my fingers crossed!

Time to post up

New and improved adhesive hangers with 3m tape. No more guess work trying to find the hook. Finger pulls make for easy hanging and removal.

Modular interlocking plates. A different take on a common Quirky submission.

perspective changing pot!

Tilt-table. A center of gravity changing cooking pot that requires no pot rest. From the stove to the table. Just tilt!

Move it and you loose it

I’m not sure If I’m just an anal guy, or I just see a bunch of problems everywhere. But there’s something about parties and wondering which cup is mine that bothers me. If you hate tagging your cup with an ugly sticker of accessory, than this idea is for you.

porcelain Party plates with a built in cup holder. Wine & dine & stop guessing what drink is yours. Keep everything you need in one hand.

Just the two of us

I think you already know I have a thing for kitchenware. Truth is it’s not like I’m any master chef or anything. But here’s another concept for those who like kitchen gadgets as much as I do.

Pan Buddies. A cooking pan and spoon set where the spoon rests and latches onto the handle. Say goodbye to drip messes and spoon holders.

Somethings are worth a second look

Great news guys! My flattop knife attachment idea has been put under consideration by quirky. If you click on the pic it will take you to the UC area of Quirky where you can view the original idea. Funny thing about this idea. I submitted it about a month ago with no luck, but a couple days ago I felt the idea was still worth considering and re-submitted it to Quirky. Let’s hope this one makes it past the live evals and into the development  phases!

words worth reading

I have my wall plastered with quotes that I’ve taken from books I have read. This is one of my favorite quotes; It wakes me up in the morning.

It’s a wrap

Wrap and attach. Octopus tentacles inspired bendable silicone grabbers with suction cups. Holds and stores things in a world of places.

Nature is damn sure inspiring. I think this picture sums of the concept entirely.

Pop lock and prop it

I can’t even begin to tell you how many random ideas I have on any given day. It’s not like I was rug shopping or anything today, this is just one of the ideas that popped into my head. Conceptual brain farts.

Indoor doormat with a corner that wedges up and acts as a door stopper when one isn’t around. pull tab to pop up and lock. Simple and easy.

Somethings just need a little push

I’m gonna keep this post short and sweet. It’s 4th of july and there is plenty of un-drunk beers with my name on it. God bless america!

Staple backed buttons. For those times when you just don’t have a needle & thread around. push through and bend back. perfect for traveling!

It’s on and poppin

I don’t have to take pills on a daily basis like some people do, but what I do know is that I would probably be in serious trouble if I did. I hate when I leave the house without my phone, So I couldn’t even imagine how bad someone would freak out if they left home without their medication. Inspired by my daily routine before I leave the house (phone, wallet, keys). Check! . I wanted to dream up some sort of solution for those who need to medicate when away from home.

Never forget to medicate again. An Inconspicuous watch with a built in storage container. always on you, holds a days worth of medication.

Pulp ain’t no fiction

Everyone has their preference when it comes to Americas most loved breakfast drink. That Highly packed vitamin-C drink has been a staple of breakfast tables for years, unfortunately, the battle ground on the tables of many has been fought over what desired “Pulp level” gets to reign supreme (With pulp, little pulp or pulp free?). I say a one sized solution should be the answer and the key lies in the kind of container used to serve it.

Juice carafe with variable sized filter for desired pulp consistency. One drink, one container. Twist knob to your desired preference!

An idea that will grow on you

I’m always advocating for our household items to pull double duty when they can. No longer can things just serve one purpose. In a world where the “Household storage unit industry” is the fastest growing in America. It’s a clear sign that we have to much stuff. Things need to suit multiple needs and help cut down on clutter. Reclaim your space.

From a bar stool to a chair. One seating device with two seating purposes. Adjustable snap button legs make this device easy to use & adjust.

Stacked for your pleasure

I’m not gonna give up trying to sell Quirky on one of my sculptural kitchen product ideas. You might have seen my cutting board idea if you’ve looked through past submissions. Either how, this is round “I don’t know” on another kitchen concept.

sculptural set of dishware. Saves cabinet space, decorates at the same time & no dish rack needed.

Plug it in plug it in

Today I’m proud to say I wasn’t thinking about food; just about the place we go to get rid of food. If you don’t know me on a personal basis, clutter bothers me. If I had my way, I would have a bathroom close to something like in the movie 2001 space odyssey. Super minimal. This concept is the result of me trying to think of a way to free up counter clutter. Enjoy!

Modular shower curtain. A world of possibilities and accessories. A new way to adore and store things we use on a daily basis. Plug & play.

let them hang

Bat grippers. For those things that are just better suited hanging upside down. perfect for drainage, saves counter space, and fast reaching.
